Following this, Dr. Giltner undertook his internship in internal medicine and ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia.

His achievements include earning honors from the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society and receiving the prestigious award for Ophthalmic Optics.
Dr. Tom is not only dedicated to providing comprehensive examinations for eyeglasses and contact lenses, but he also offers expert consultations for LASIK and cataract procedures. Forest T. Pope, O. D., is a distinguished graduate from Berea College Class of 2018 with a major in Cell and Molecular Biology. Dr. Pope is a proud alumnus of the University of Pikeville College of Optometry. His dedication to his craft has not gone unnoticed. He was honored with the prestigious Pioneer International Senior Leadership award during his time at the University.
Dr. Pope conducts thorough assessments for eyeglasses, soft and scleral contact lenses, and leads the Dry Eye Clinic at Abell Eyes. In addition to these services, he offers treatment for glaucoma and performs minor office procedures.
Beyond the realm of optometry, Dr. Pope’s heart beats for a few key passions. Being a 2x All American baseball player himself, he is an avid supporter of UK athletics. You’ll often find him cheering passionately for his beloved Wildcats. He’s also on a never-ending quest to discover the world’s finest cup of coffee, a journey that he takes with his wife Riley and their two furry companions. For Dr. Pope, optometry is more than a profession; it’s a calling.
